Inter community women's Peace building workshop with Pokot and Ilchamus community women. This took place in November 2025 at Chepkalacha village in Pokot area.
The women double up as parents of the children who became friends for peace and in turn connected their families across the two communities formally divided by conflict.
The visiting Ilchamus women were hosted by fellow Pokot women and families for two days during the peace workshop.
Objective
Objective was to discuss critical roles of women in promoting peace between their communities.
The women shared their experiences, expressing both their fears and gratitude for the efforts made
to prevent conflict from escalating further.
The workshop aimed to highlight the significant influence women have in their communities and how this influence can be optimized to promote reconciliation and lasting peace.
